As of right now, there doesn't seem to be any evidence that suggests the left anywhere released it or knew it was released on purpose by China if China released it and didn't just get out.
I think it's patently obvious at this point that once out, they took full advantage of it, and the elite knew full well that it was no where near as dangerous as they were making out, which is why you saw them ignore their own lockdown and mask orders. If there had been a real direct threat to themselves or their families that they were actually worried about, none of them would have broken their own rules out of actual fear.

If it were an intentional release I'd say the culprit is most likely the CCP and not the American left
I started a post a little over a year ago highlighting that anti China sentiment had reached new heights around Oct 2019. So there was certainly a motive.
