Fauci emails... "I do not recommend you wear a mask" ouch!!!

The Washington Post obtained 866 pages of Fauci emails via the Freedom of Information Act.
The emails are from February, March and April 2020.

Edit: That email is dated February 5th. Isn’t that a little on the early side for him to be making statements like this? I seem to remember covid becoming an issue later than that.

The blanket excuse for this will be, “science is a constantly evolving process” to which I would query at what point do we stop bending with every ebb and flow and settle on something for the sake of sanity/practicality?

The actual scientific approach is to continue operating as usual (no mask and no rushed vaccine) until you have peer reviewed studies with reproducible evidence showing an intervention works (with no major safety concerns) in different areas of the country with different populations.
That way you don’t confuse people and create social chaos and division.
Unless, you want to create social chaos and division in an attempt to grab more power and money for yourself.

I remember this a-hole stating this publicly in the beginning then completely flopping on masks when the media narrative shifted focus to countries that hadn't experienced the rona surges.

I think we all know this, but the emails indicate that not only did he spout this on 60', he was in direct communication with other government officials that masks weren't going to be effective.
In fairness to him, he got run over by the politicos. The damned masks became an anti-Trump/anti-GOP symbol of sorts that the woke mob and the media outlets rallied around. It drove an idiotic public policy and there probably wasn't anything Fouci could do to stop it....so he hopped aboard the train to Idiocracy.
