The pissing contest 2 nfl franchises had for TS is strange AF.

Flip on his Miss State tape. Guy was the most unathletic goober on the field. He got benched for a true Freshmen that couldn’t even throw the ball past the shadow of his own body on a cloudy day.

Then Tommy disappeared for 6 months and tried to rebrand himself as a Taysom Hill 2.0. It was just a weird as frick play and he incredulously got not 1, but 2 teams to buy into it. It is one of the bigger con jobs of all time that Tommy Stevens actually received nfl money from 2 franchises.

Obviously none of yall have flipped on his Miss State Tape. He was a pocket passer with zero mobility and/or toughness who as a 5th yr sr got benched for a QB who couldn't throw (and was more taysom hill like than tommy ever will be). Season ends, Tommy works on some squats for 3 months in the offseason and then he not only thinks he is the next Taysom Hill, he fooled 2 teams into thinking he could be the next Taysom Hill. Unbelievable. And the Saints traded 2-3 picks to get the guy lol. Awful move. Sure they were late round picks, but there are actually decent players there if you try to scout a bit.

Saints cou,d sign Tommy Stevens to practice squad just to get Intel on Panthers scheme that Tommy would of picked up on last year at Carolina....NFL teams do it all the time

He ran a 4.49 forty, had over 800 rushing yards in college, averaged almost 6 yards per carry and had 12 rushing TDs.

This is a completely false reading on Garrett Shrader.

Also, it's not tape. It's a fricking video clip. You don't work in football, stop talking like you do.

Well, the Saints did give up 12 first round picks to draft him, so . . .

I liked Shrader fine, but he was a running QB and really not SEC quality. If Tommy could have ran, he wouldn’t have been replaced and outplayed by Shrader.

Just bc you run a 4.49, doesn’t mean you are all of a sudden tough and even athletic enough to play like Taysom. Watch his film. Tommy was soft and timid.

He got some rushing tds early in his career against division 2 schools and weak big 10 teams in garbage time. In his senior year, when he was the guy and playing SEC football, he was a finesse pocket passer.

Grats on looking at the stats and a non laser 40 time and not giving them the proper context. Wild horrible miss by both teams. Payton just wanted him to peave Brady. Brady wanted him bc he had a prior relationship with Tommy at Penn State. Their judgements weren’t exactly based on tape or potential. Tommy Stevens was the most out of left field 6th rd pick in the last decade. Guy doesn’t belong anywhere near the nfl as a “taysom hill” type player.

I’m all for bringing him in as a PS guy who can play different positions to practice against.

Nah, just had to watch his arse at State for a season. Guy literally disappeared halfway through the season, to the point where I forgot about him completely, and then the Saints and Panthers randomly broke nfl rules in their pursuit of him being the next Taysom Hill, when he has less in common with Taysom Hill than almost any other QB I’ve ever seen play the game. Guy is more Zach Mettenberger than Taysom Hill. Just a weird waste of time, energy and assets by 2 nfl teams to the point where it has our fans saying we should bring a worthless player back lol.

Lol I added that last bit several hours after my initial post. I saw that the initial wave of saints talk guard dogs had serenaded my post with an alarming number of downvotes. I reached the conclusion that the tape had not been viewed so I reiterated the need to watch it. I think more people have watched it now as the upvotes are making a comeback.

First of all, he was a 6th round pick.

Secondly, he was never going to be a qb. Maybe he was going to get a fee gadget plays if it ever came to that.

Honestly, i didn't like the pick but come on man. You said it was the worst 6th round pick ever.

I get that you're a Hill fan, hey I like him too, but you're going a little overboard and exaggerating and/or creating negatives for Stevens.

Not really man. That was an off the wall pick and the reasoning/vision to turn him into a utility player was even more off the wall. If there were 12-15 rds, he still shouldn’t have been picked. Tommy was strictly a pocket passer in year 5 of college. He didn’t have any running ability or the ability to take hits. He became a workout warrior in the offseason and the Saints and Panthers fell for it.

Tommy is a good guy and the Saints are typically good at drafting, but this was a miss and it’s okay to admit that even if you are a fan of the team. People are literally saying we should waste a training camp spot and bring him back when we have the least amount of overall depth that we’ve had in 5 years. That’s absurd. Bring in another DB, LB, DT, or OL instead of wasting time on turning a pocket passer into Rite Aid Taysom Hill.
