Anyone else think they’re playing this up because the new deal with extra $ going to players with big social media engagement? I’m sure they really don’t like each other but i don’t think we would be getting this without that.

That's a possibility. But I think that would involve them working together and I can't see Brooks doing anything with Bryson, even for millions of dollars. It may just be that these guys absolutely hate each other and talk shite to and about each other all the time and it was just behind closed doors. After Brooks' video was released, they may just be moving it into the mainstream.

I wanna root for Bryson so bad but his shite talk is soooooo cringe worthy.
But this has to be all calculated. Too many other big names are chiming in on this thread. If it was a legit feud, I think everyone else would just be lurking in the shadows.

Rivalries are good for just about all sports. Golf hasn't really had one since Tiger/Phil or Tiger/Duval.
I'm sure both are happy to fill the void and get some free publicity.
The PGA, Golf Channel, and just about everyone associated with the game is happy about it as well.
That said, you can't really manufacture a good rivalry. They need to be competing on the back nine on Sundays in Major Championships to make this interesting. Brooks has to get healthy and Bryson has to find a fairway on Thursday and Friday.
