Is blown so far out of proportion. I guess he’s probably better? But Arnold is not as bad as people say and Cranford isn’t exactly a wizard at 2B. With Arnold being far and away the better hitter, I don’t understand how he wasn’t starting all year. Drives me nuts.

Arnold struggled with the easy throw from 2B early in the switch.
but Cranford has had a couple big miscues lately.

Neither got enough playing time to really know what the hell they are. It’s pretty obvious Arnold was the better hitter, but its not like he was tearing it up in conference. he had a good game against A&M. I honestly think CPM puts too much into pitcher/hitter matchups and not enough into making sure the best players are on the field when it matters.

Neither of them are good fielders. How did they end up on this team?

Cranford hasn't shown anything all year that would indicate he's an SEC level player.

Kramer Robertson was the same his freshmen year. He could field but was the worst hitter on the team. Maybe in summer ball some real coach can help him at hitting like Kramer had help in summer ball.

The Cranford experiment is puzzling to say least. Never believed in whole naked pictures blackmail theory but.......

Well LSU did lose today because he couldn't throw from first to second. That's a pretty big miscue.

Project may be able to confirm but I believe Cranford was a relatively late add to his class. He was probably intended to be a depth/program type player, taking up minimal scholarship money, and maybe capable of doing some of the things he’s been asked to do in his third and fourth years on campus instead of his first and second.

We’ve been conditioned to decide whether someone can play at a high level, or even be a high level role player, or not after about a season and a half. But to be fair to us Mainieri often seems to think the same way judging by the way the roster is managed.

You seem to be right that Cranford isn’t a lot better, but Arnold is indeed very bad.

The summer before his senior year. Considering how early classes are filled, it is relatively late. But he wasn't Braden Doughty late.
