Google your local Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (or whatever the department is called where you are) snake ID guide. It is immensely helpful.

Snake ID is the best part of the OB in my opinion.
I identified the snake without looking at other posts.
Before I got plugged into the OB and began “studying” the pictures and people’s responses I would not have been as able to do that.
