Warning to anyone going to beach this Summer from Louisiana or Texas

I have had to travel to Austin twice from mobile last 4 weeks. I have spend over 7 hours stuck in traffic on interstate 10. The only trip I didn’t get stuck was when I was heading west and left mobile at 6 pm at night. (On the trip, some little Asian gangster tried to car jack us in Baytown Texas but that’s a different topic. )
There are huge road construction projects in the following areas along interstate 10.
Texas:
West of Houston
East of Houston (2)
East of Beaumont
Louisiana:
Lafayette area
Mandeville area (needs federal intervention)
Mississippi:
I think it’s clear now
Alabama:
West of Mobile
The tunnel is still here as well
Florida:
Pensacola Bridge is mostly back up
You better add a few hours to your trip at least. Been averaging 2 hours plus so far and we are not even to Memorial Day.
Gas up, bring extra water, Gatorade bottles etc, tempers are likely to flare up. (It took what 6 hours to clear one damn wreck from mandeville area yesterday, backed up traffic for almost 20 miles) I can only imagine what it’s going to be like this Summer.

I live here dude, and have no fricking fear of sharks and been around them all my life.
Unlike your generation we used to play tag with gators when crabbing, throw rocks at hornets and wasp nest, throw around snakes like ropes and fight sharks for fish when wade fishing. Sharks are a no problem as long as you can see them. I was always more worried about slicing my foot on oyster shells.
People are going to lose it in that traffic in Louisiana, probably be some epic gun battles

Thanks for the info. I’ll plan ahead of time. I’ve saved the entire pandemic for my 2 week stay at Phoenix. It’s going to be fun to be out in the world, maskless.

I want to hear more about this. Were you at Buccee's? What happened?

You mean Louisiana is actually spending money on roads?

We saw the cops collapse on this little Asian girl last trip by the pumps of Bucees. I think they were waiting for us to leave as I noticed 6 cop cars when I was gassing up. Went into bucees, and when I came out looked like episode of cops. My wife said as soon I walked into store they collapsed on her car from every direction guns drawn etc.
I guess she was putting out or pulling skim cards or something
