Every now and then I encounter a dude that doesn't know how to change a tire and it blows my mind.
And a tire changing trick - if the lug nut is too tight, adjust the wrench until its somewhat parallel to the ground and stand on it.

In high school, a local shop put lugs on my car with an air wrench and torqued the same as the axle nut they had just put on.
I ruined a cross tool the next time I had a flat.

Makes changing a flat tire happen for me in under 10 minutes.
I used to carry a floor jack when I drove a pickup.
That was preferable to the stock jacks.

Always carry a cheater bar. If you are at home and have a floor jack the second half of the handle works great, of course, if you are a real man you have an impact wrench on hand and a half-inch torque wrench to ensure the lug nuts are at the right torque spec.
Also be careful with the stand and bounce trick on a lock nut they will break off the keyed top and your gonna have a bad day hammering on a socket to get enough purchase to get the broken nut off.

the first trick is to loosen the lug nuts before you jack up the car.
