Maybe they'll award admission points for the applicant's most creative use of computers to paste themselves in obscure sports not yet fully appreciated by the NCAA.

What sports? Purse snatching, sheep shearing, chicken sexing, caber tossing, cooking a dark roux, catching and eating seal blubber, turning linen into thread. Dancing with kelp instead of ribbon dancing. Kayaking UP rapids. etc.

Bruh if you're stupid, letting people in ain't gonna make a difference. They're not gonna know the curriculum and if you just out right pass them and give them a degree. They'll be useless in the work force.

And they shall reap what they sow.
Simple enough.

Makes it easier to discriminate against Asians if you drop standardized test scores.

Standardized tests aren't perfect, but I do believe they are a better indicator than GPAs.

All high schools are not built the same. I remember when my older brother was in high school. He never had homework, ever. He never even carried any books home, etc. As a younger kid, I just knew high school would be a breeze.

Once I was in high school, my experience was completely different. I attended a different high school, and it was everything but a breeze. Whereas my brother never had homework, for 5 days a week I came home with 5 classes worth of homework.

What these schools don't realize is that they are setting these kids up for failure. By lowering your admission standards, you are bringing in lower quality schools. Alot of these students won't be able to hack it at the college level, and thus all the new freshman they allowed in due to relaxed admissions, are all gone after their very first year.

Y’all are overreacting to this one I think. All this will accomplish is the lessening of the degree from any CAL system college and companies will look elsewhere when hiring employees until they realize it’s costing the school in the long run and then it will return on a few years. The sad thing is the idiots who approve this will stay in power

quote:

Dropping standardized test scores from admissions because you think certain minority groups are too unintelligent to score well on them is blatant racism.

How can anyone defend this?

This is so unfair to the high school kids who are of a more academic/scholarly bent.

Just the tip of the iceberg... saw a thread on here yesterday that California secondary education is considering dropping accelerated math placement. In other words you could not take algebra in middle school and you could only take clases at the assigned grade level...

Even the libtards got upset with this.

SAT and ACT are fricking scams. If you can apply yourself in High School and make good grades you will likely do well in college or life in general if you choose to go straight into the work force. Not everybody will end up making 500k a year. Life is a fricking grind for most of us.
