I've whipped the shite out of some geese and large dogs before out of defensive necessity in the past, but no human alive could take on a chimpanzee, elephant, gorilla or lion in unarmed combat.

As a teen growing up in New Iberia I often saw alligators lying on the road to Avery Island. They look dead but they are sunning themselves. I got out and walked up within 3 feet of a big one I thought was dead. He didn't open his jaws or lift his head. He just emitted a very low tone bass moan.
