Zero turn mower suggestion

Hustler or Gravely are the ones I’ve always leaned toward.

I just got a Hustler Raptor XD 42 and love it. I narrowed it down to the Hustler and Badboy ztr’s. I believe either of those choices would work well for you.

I know you say that you don't want to spend a lot of money, but, with 5 acres to mow, you should really consider a commercial mower if there is any way that you can swing it. There are plenty of good brands. I've had a JD Mini Z-Trak for 16 years and, although expensive up front, I saw my dad go through three residential zero turns during that same time period. My expenses have been limited to a carburetor kit, new tires, a fuel tank pickup that I managed to hook on an immovable object and an upcoming seat replacement.

I was thinking about getting a Kubota, but I just don't need to replace what I have since is still works just fine.

I encourage you to try a front deck grasshopper zero turn. They claim a 72 inch can mow 6 acres in an hour.

I have a 52 and LOVE it. The deck turns up so you can easily service the blades. You can go under shrubs and fence wire and it flies.

The front deck is so much better than the mid deck in the other mower I own.

If you already have a tractor, a large finish mower might be in your budget.

My vote is for the biggest Hustler you can afford.

They all have welded decks. Kawasaki or Kohler power.

I think you could get into a good one for $5k or so.
