The used car market is pretty crazy right now.
I just traded in a 2016 Ram 1500 single cab Tradesman pickup with the 5.7 Hemi that I paid $18,600 for in 2018, and got $19,800 for it. This was through CarMax, and it was a cash offer, whether I bought a car from them or not.
I did buy this today from them..
2016 Challenger R/T Plus with 36,500 miles, 6 speed manual. Got it for my truck and $6100 cash.
Never thought I would get anything near that for the truck especially since my dumb arse messed up the rear bumper really bad at the gas station a few weeks ago.

Local Chevy dealer is advertising an offer to buy people out of their leases or buy their car outright.
Have never heard that before in rural WI.
Inventory is maybe 50% of normal on the new lot.

You can thank the semi conductors, or lack of, for some of this.

Values are crazy because inventory is scarce. GM and Ford having serious issues pushing out new vehicles due to a chip shortage.

Yeah, it hasnt been raining here in Taiwan. We've been praying for a typhoon but no luck.

Had about a 90 mile drive home from where I bought it. It was a great drive until traffic came to a standstill on the interstate due to a wreck. I haven't driven a manual transmission in probably 10 years...I got refreshed really quick !

I got a truck I want to sell and maximize my profit from for impending divorce but I don’t think I’ll be able to find something else to drive if I sell this

I checked my truck's value on KBB about three months ago and it was around $18K. I checked it again a couple of days ago and it was $20K.
Crazy.

Dodge trucks are in high demand, and the new ones are downright fine!

I got my wife a 2017 Rogue in 2018. The dealer has been texting and emailing, asking to buy it back. He lies, and claims he has a specific customer, looking for that exact type of vehicle.

I guess we got lucky. We just financed our 2020 Yukon for 96 months at $975 per month.
The dealership went above and beyond and even gave us a complimentary 30-A sticker!

She doesn't work at Target. Are they pretty Rogue heavy? What are your latest numbers on your Target parking lot counts? Do you find the Rogue percentages are climbing? Does anything else rival them?

This is one reason used is so high they can’t get semi conductors for new vehicles

I wonder how much I could get for my '16 Jeep Grand Cherokee with only 45k miles on it.
Rarely drive it due to having a company vehicle.
Carmax, private buyer, or pitch it to a local Jeep dealership?
