quote:I can settle this:
Uh, speaking as an actual bassist, Ben Shepard's bass lines are much more intricate and nuanced than any of Tim's. However Tim is great about finding the right groove and creating signature bass riffs, and is a true master of tone. But as far as individual chops, at least as far as what's displayed in their songs, Ben is much, much, much better than Tim man. Give Jesus Christ Pose a run through and see if that doesn't change your mind.
Soundgarden is less than the sum of its parts. I imagine this mainly comes down to songwriting - just not that good.
Audioslave is also less than the sum of its parts. I remember seeing the announcement of a supergroup composed of half RATM and half Soundgarden...and the big, hot, hard-hitting 1st single was...Like a Stone...a plodding, low-energy dud.
So, the correct unpopular opinion is that both of these are decent but not great. You're welcome.

Have you listened to any of their other stuff:
Out of Exile
Revelations
Original Fire
Cochise
There’s a ton of high energy rock in Audioslave’s catelog.
