The officers' initial report said Garner, who has dementia, was not injured. Her lawyer, Sarah Schielke, said the officers dislocated Garner's shoulder, broke a bone in her arm and sprained her wrist. Garner has now filed a federal lawsuit against the Loveland Police Department (LPD).
quote:

Schielke alleges the video shows the three arresting officers watching body camera video of Garner's arrest, laughing and celebrating the excessive force, and fist-bumping the fact that one of the officers intimidated a citizen who stopped to make a complaint.

Obey. I’ve gone from a reasonable person to a “frick you and anything you leftists or the media says.” This is the America you wanted. Well, you get it.

Later in the video, as officers begin watching, Jalali, who assisted in the arrest, says body camera footage is "like live TV."

Blackett responds by saying, "the bodycam show," as someone giggles.

"Bodycams are my favorite thing to watch. I could watch livestream bodycams all day," Jalali says.

But as the three of them continue watching, it appears Jalali becomes uncomfortable with the video. "

Can you stop it now?" she asks. "What?" Hopp asks.

quote:

According to a YouTube transcription of the video, Hopp then asks, "Are you ready for the pop?" as Jalali covers her ears.

"Hear the pop?" Hopp asks.

The pop refers to something in the video, but it's not clear what that is.

"I hate this," Jalali says.
"This is great," Hopp responds.
"I hate it," Jalali says.
"I love it," Hopp fires back.

Schielke said viewing of the video and the conversations around it all took place as Garner was 10 feet away in a cell. She remained in that cell for two and a half hours, the lawsuit states, until she was taken to a hospital.

"For the 6 hours that Ms. Garner was kept in custody by Loveland and the jail, despite many jokes made about her being disabled and mentally unfit, no one attempted to locate Ms. Garner's caregiver, console or help her, de-escalate her, or alert her loved ones to her terrible situation," the lawsuit said.

quote:

Police were called and the arrest left Garner with multiple injuries, including a broken humerus, a dislocated shoulder and a sprained wrist, according to the lawsuit.

The arrest is over $13 of stuff the lady walked out of WalMart with.

I get it. But this is fricking video of the cops laughing their way through busting up a literal grandma with dementia over $13 of stuff from WalMart.

What would you take as evidence?

Video of the cops in the station.

Fair warning: the transcription is from the lawyer suing the city.

This case is the best thing that could happen to Loveland. They can get rid of a couple of shitty cops who are a drag on the force and not pay out $12M to a black kid’s family who gets shot by them.

Idc anymore.

Will bitching about police 24/7 save the countless kids who are abducted by evil assholes? Will it save the kids who are slaughtered by stray bullets during drivebys? Will it help asians feel safe in inner cities? Will it relieve the oppression that countless black families live under, in gang controlled areas?

No. And protecting jagoffs who shouldn’t be police officers in the first place won’t change any of those things either.

There is not trusting the media, then there is sticking your head in the sand. You are definitely in the latter.

I’ve been around, a part of, and seen enough police reports in situations that I know EXACTLY what happened to think it isn’t unreasonable to say ~90% of police reports are stretches of the truth and outright lies to protect the officers and punish us citizens.

And even the “good” officers go along with it.

I'm typically skeptical about reports of police brutality but you're a fricking bootlicker.
