I have no issues using cab service but it’s deplorable af in Nola. Not saying Uber is any better here but atleast you don’t get screwed over your rate. NYC has their cab system together, nola should take notes.

I can travel across NOLA cheaper by uber than by using Uber.

There is no doubt why rideshare will die here. No one can make money.

Much more money in delivering groceries right now.

By the way, I also have a beef with Uber as a company. Back in 2015 I walked from my apartment to a movie theater to watch a movie. At night though, my route home turns into homeless central, so I don’t feel safe walking home at night. I order an Uber at around 7:00 PM and this woman picks me up. Short ride but she tells me I’m her last ride tonight because her kid has a stomach bug. I tell her I hope her kid gets better and thanks for the ride.

The next day I have a $200 cleaning bill for supposedly vomiting in the back of her car. I put two and two together and quickly realize her kid with the stomach bug puked in the backseat well after I was in the car and she was trying to con me out of $200. I called up Uber and they took her side. Ever since then I’ve been extremely loyal towards Lyft.

But do I know if Uber’s policies are still the same and they’d frick me the same way today? No I don’t, but I’m still done with them for that wrong.

That f’n sucks. I’ve had hundreds of rides, some being black out but have yet had a cleaning fee charge.

It’ll all come back by fall when things start picking up again. This summer will probably be rough though.

I think a lot of them have decided to deliver for door dash, grub hub, Uber eats, etc. Extremely easy to make some $$ and not have people in your vehicle.

It seems in BR the driving services just don't have enough workers.

A few of my employees have sent me screen shots of the wait time on an Uber and it's ridiculous.

The waves and wind have been rough, so enjoy the sun. But the fishing may be lacking.

Cheers

They may not make much but they aren’t having to pay for a medallion to do so.

I understand that, but uber is a losing deal for anyone who drives. They get instant money for the weekend, but they aren't turning a profit.

Most drivers don't see the long term costs so they don't see how much money they are losing until much later.

Go to somewhere like Seattle and the uber operators are running like cabs and the service is much worse. They all have a prius and the service is shite.

Took one to the airport this morning and was inquisitive, the driver said he drives 40-60 hours a week and averages $1000 after fuel.- mainly focuses on airport trips.

I live in downtown St. Peter’s and Lyft/Uber used to pick me up in 5 minutes or less every single time a year+ ago. Drivers were EVERYWHERE.

Now it’s tough to even find one.
