I would think if anything were cancelled by the digital age, print school photos would be it, bit they're still around and still asking for $30 for a few wallets.

We've bought them a few times if the picture was a good one of our kids.

There are some schools that do pictures twice a year. Thankfully ours just does it once a year in the fall.

The place that does our school's photos has several packages that start at like $30 and go up. Or you can pay $10 for a CD and the digital rights.

We opt for the $10 and print as many pictures as needed for whoever wants them.

We get 8x10s for our parents and ourselves along with other assorted pictures for other family members. Package is usually around ~$45. Yearbooks are a damn racket too

It’s like $60 for the digital files.

Get the school photos. You know your aren’t ever going to do anything with those snapshots on your phone.

Having a record of what your kid looked like, year over year, is worth the cost of a pizza and beer.

Tenant of mine works for one of the big companies that does school pics. They have been bought and downsized a couple of times in the last few years and the pandemic really hit them. But he still has a job mainly because he has become their IT guy and rarely takes photos anymore.

I just frame my kid’s free pictures with the “PROOF” at the bottom.

We get a couple of 5x7 school football, individual, photos. Figured it would be cool to see the changes over 6 years.
