Will LSU land 13 of top 14 players in Louisiana? Or 16 of the 18 blue chips?

I cannot recall LSU ever getting or leading for this many top in state kids. I unfortunately remember the days where more than half of our top kids would leave the state for teams like Miami, Florida State, Texas A&M and even Michigan.
Howard, Campbell and Matthews are 1,2 and 3 in the state, Matthews would be the number 1 player in many years.
Preston, Moss and Law are 4,5 and 6. LSU has a great shot at all three, Moss being the most likely. Law can start on either side of the ball.
Welch is a commit at number 7. Tapp is number 8. I could see Tapp leaving the state but no one really leads for him and there is some buzz he might pick LSU.
Etienne is the number 9 player and about the only player in the top 14 I would say more probably than not leaves the state.
Citizen is number 10 and a heavy LSU lean. Anderson at 11 is a verbal commit. Emery Jones at 12 is a heavy LSU lean. Johnson at 13 is a verbal commit. Wiggins at 14 is an LSU lean.
Looking down the list of the 18 four and five star players Louisiana has on the 247 list, LSU could land 16 of the 18 blue chips with Trevor Etienne and Walter Bob being the only 2 to leave the state.
Yes its early. Yes we might lose some of the verbals we have. No I don't see us ending up with 16 of the 18 blue chips. I would put the over/under at 14 or 15.
We are in as good a shape as I ever recall with top in state kids.
And its a good year to load up on La kids. We have a great shot at nine of the top ten with verbals from the three five stars.

Id watch the RB's. Not sure they will be able to land them all. Citizen, the best of the bunch in-state, seems imminent. They have a few out of state offers out it seems like, too.

Don’t believe this. Word I’ve heard/read yes that Trevor is very much interested in LSU, and Jacoby Mathews recently mentioned that he will be pushing for Etienne to join the class

It still feels strange to me that Decoldest was a take so early on in the process.

In-state recruiting has always been important, but it is even more important in the current climate with the ease of transfer, opt outs, etc.
Local players will be more loyal, less homesick, etc., than out of state players.
I believe that schools with a fertile local recruiting base will be more successful in the future.

There are three blue chip running backs in the state this year - Leveon Moss, Trevor Etienne and Trevonte Citizen.
I have assumed Etienne to be the only top ten player in La that LSU misses on for sure. Moss and Citizen are both LSU leans. We really only need two running backs in this class, so any two of the three would be fine with me. From all I have read, LSU is in great shape with Moss and Citizen.
And then there is Kendrick Law. I assume LSU sees him as a corner, but he could play rb, wr, safety or corner in college.
Offensive line is the biggest need in this class and I think they will get five.
So this is shaping up to be one of the more well rounded classes with just about every position being addressed. Linebacker might be a concern, unless you are plugging in Matthews there.
Of course there is a long way to go, but so far so good.
To have the top three players in the state committed this early is huge. All three of them seem to be solid commits as well.

I would gladly see LSU take 16 of the top 18 players in La. this year and be ecstatic about it. I also really like Javae Gilmore and Maxie Baudoin IV, and wouldn't be upset with either of those guys in the class.

I would take Moss first. After that I would take Citizen or Etienne, whoever commits first. I do not see room for all three as we have signed two running backs in each of the last two classes. I would think we need an hback, fullback or another tight end in the class than three running backs.
Most people think Etienne is the one who goes out of state because his brother did and maybe lingering hard feelings LSU didn't offer his brother earlier.
I dont care about any of that. I would take Etienne or Citizen to go with Moss or Etienne and Citizen if Moss goes elsewhere.

I had read earlier this year LSU was very high on Branson Robinson (Germantown HS), I know he’s OOS, but is LSU still heavily recruiting him?

If we outbid the others sure.

Word is Peetz really likes Kendrick Law at a flex RB/WR type. Apparently that's where LSU is looking at putting him.

We may lose 1 or 2 battles but there were 3 Cant Miss prospects snd O landed all of them

Kendrick Law should be a high priority.
He can do so many things.

I think you're a bit too fixated on the 4*/5* distinction--I would absolutely put Shazz Preston in the "cant miss" category. I wouldn't quibble if you wanted to put aaron anderson in there as well.

You have a huge need for tackles and you have a 5* in your backyard.
You have a huge need for safety’s and you have a 5* in your back yard.
You have a 5* legacy at QB down the road. Can’t lose him.
Shazz Preston and Aaron Anderson are good players but they’re not “must lands” they’re not at positions of great need snd neither are all world talents.
It would be great to land them but they’re nowhere near as big a need as the other 3
I’d argue that Kendrick Law and Emery Jones are both more important
