Sure with the contract, but remember Sanu warranted a 2nd rounder from NE. Julio is arguably the top WR in the league (when he plays), definitely a top 5 guy. I'd want some sort of 1st for that.
The Sanu trade is a weird one. Belichick had wanted Sanu for a while, and Brady basically demanded something be done behind the scenes.

I think I heard or read somewhere that Matt Ryan is not about that at all.

That would kind of go against almost everything we know about him. He has openly stated that he understands the business side and that if the Falcons draft a QB, he would do his best to help.

You heard wrong, brother.
Matt is the consummate pro.

Imagine being a young QB drafted by the Falcons... only to not have Julio Jones.
That’s why it doesn’t make much sense unless they are drafting Pitts or possibly Chase.
Replace Julio with Pitts, free up a little cap space, add a draft pick, and they still have Ridley and Gage.

Or if the new regime thinks that this team will not be competitive anyways so they're trying to get something out of Julio while he still has a little bit of value.
One of the Atlanta radio guys has said that the main focus for 2021 and 2022 should be cleaning up the salary cap and drafting young talent so that they'll be ready to put a real contender on the field by 2023. I tend to agree with this thought.

Given the talent and the cap issues I kinda feel like the Falcons should just trade what returns real value and rebuild for 2-3 seasons from now.
Get Jerrah or Gruden to give you a first rounder and change for Julio and don't squander the rest of his higher quality years.

GB doesn’t do big time trades. They refuse to go “win now” mode
Also they are prepping for life after Aaron.

And by doing so will not win another title with or without him. Which is why they’ll suck arse when he leaves them either through retirement or trade.

If I was Baltimore I would jump on it.

they just got a few extra picks from KC,

Let's make a ATL-GB-NE deal centered around Julio Jones, Jordan Love and picks happen.

love to New England
new england #1.15 and a 6 in 2022 to gb
julio to gb
3rd in 2021 and performance conditional 2nd or 3rd in 2022.

Jordan Love is butt sweat and can’t even hack the backup QB position.

GB gets Julio and a first rounder and Atlanta gets a couple mid round picks? That doesn’t make a whole lotta sense
I also can’t imagine a guy who didn’t play a snap last season would have the same or higher value then he did last year when he was drafted at a lower draft slot last season, especially when the same team that supposedly would give up a first rounder for him, had no interest in him last year when they could’ve drafted Love at 23 if they wanted

Youd think maybe Dolphins with all the draft capital they have. But they could get a much younger model in Chase. Eagles maybe?
What I was thinking. Imagine going from Devontae Parker and Preston Williams your rookie year to Julio Jones and Ja’Marr Chase the next

Just curious. Who would you rather, Jones or Ridley?
It seems this is the last year with both (be stupid expensive keeping them together). Which one would you rather keep going forward?
