Prepare to be pissed. It’s gonna be Davis Mills at 28.

Would rather take Trask in the third if he’s there. Or Newman in late rounds

I'd be shocked. He's not better than Jameis Winston, and Winston has shown a willingness to sign here long term

Take the best CB or LB available at #28. There should be some good ones still on the board

Oh you're the messenger.

They told you who they are going to pick.

I'd be shocked.

I hope all the QBs are gone by 28.

Gotta be CB LB or Vera-Tucker

I don’t know if you have inside sources or if you are just spouting off to try and rile people up, but I’ve thought Davis Mills was going to be the pick for about 4-6 weeks now.

Sean Payton has a helluva relationship with Stanford Coach, David Shaw. David Shaw is probably a large reason why Project Bubble Butt was drafted and retained. Coach PS and Coach DS are great friends, so Payton definitely has the inside scoop on this Mills kid. Also, the Saints and Payton a lot of times make a move that is surprising to the fan base in rd one. Typically it’s not our greatest “on paper” need and It’s almost always a player that is not within the top 5-10 players that fans and even the analysts pinpoint the saints picking in round one. Payton seems to like to go against the grain at times in an attempt to prove that he is smarter than everyone ( and to be fair- he usually is).

I was just about to post my D Mills prediction on Saints talk, and that day Bunchie beat me to the punch with his (sorry for assuming your choice of pronouns) thread, then a rumor came out that a team late in the first is interested in Mills, and now you are coming out of nowhere saying this is the pick.

I personally have not studied the kid much. I am holding out hope that he won’t be the pick, because I want to see what the competition between Jameis and Taysom will bring out of them and we have much larger needs, such as corner, linebacker, o line depth, etc.

But prepare yourselves Saints talk. This has a very real chance of happening. Read up on Mills. Read up on Payton’s relationship with David Shaw. Go look back at our previous first round picks and cross reference them with what most fans and analysts expected at the time. We simply can’t brush this off. We must work on accepting this now so we do not melt quite as badly on draft night if/when it happens.

The last 2 Stanford guys we’ve dealt with have been soft as Charmin (Fleener & Peat). I’ve had enough of Stanford on this team

But I would not be upset.

Lattimore is the only skill position player I can remember the Saints drafting with a first round pick in the past decade. Maybe I’m forgetting someone. (Ingram was 2011, so right at a decade)

It is almost always a lineman: Ram, Peat, McCoy, Rankins, Davenport, Ruiz.
So I see the Saints picking the best lineman available, and some fans being upset.
