Does y’all’s SUV go through brake pads quickly?

Our needs a new set of pads every 30k miles. That’s over twice as fast as I’ve ever seen a vehicle go through a set of brake pads.
Same experience?

2011 Tahoe. 105k miles. Still same ones. No squeaking/etc yet.

Mine has 95k on the current set
No squeaks, no dust, no gouges in rotors, still performs.

I just changed mine a few weeks ago at 47k miles. Three of them still had some life left but the rear driver side was toast.

You must drive wire to wire

Are you using cheap Autozone pads? Try some ceramic pads next time.

Tell your wife to quit riding the brakes
Posted on 4/22/21 at 1:47 pm to Gaston
all depends on your driving style, riding brakes a lot, hard braking rather then gradual stops, and the type of vehicle as well as the type and construction of the pads themselves if they are metalics, ceramics, or the organic oem types
some only last 30k-40k miles, others can go 75k-100k miles

You need to let off the gas sooner while approaching red lights...
Stupid dealership told me I needed pads at 50K miles because they were too worn. Told them I'd tale care of it myself. Went to change them, still could've gotten another 30k miles out of them.
Side note: screw Matt Bowers, I'll never purchase or bring my truck to them for an oil change ever again.

you're only supposed to drive with 1 foot.

My 2001 Tahoe--315K miles, I only remember replacing the pads once
Wife's 2014 Tahoe--had to replace pads twice with 80K total miles.
But we drive differently. She believes that the car has 2 pedals and you should be stompin on one of them at all times.

Who says a Tahoe isn’t nimble...just have to drive it like a Porsche.

Buy better quality brake pads.

They were changed at the dealership at 32k mikes. Wife says they’re ‘making metal grinding sounds’ and it’s right at 60k.
