And they moved two guys to safety this spring. They obviously aren’t comfortable with the position.

Prob has something to do with that scholarship being ear marked for another position.
Safety isn’t a strength tho. Harris already hurt. 4 of the 6 guys have never played safety in a CFB game.

I think Kaufman and Ward can play together back there and be quite the ball hawking duo. They both are good tacklers despite their stature too.

They didn't even sniff around tykee smith. I like kaufman i just don't think they are going to use it on him. They want derrick davis and sage playing

Safety position has evolved. True free safeties hardly exist anymore. It’s so hard to find that protype
Kaufman is a hybrid box safety with coverage & ball skills. That is the new 2nd safety position.

Strong safety is going to be able to play the run and cover a tight end
Free safety will be responsible for a third receiver or just covering a 3rd of the field depending what the coverage is.
Ward seems to have fs locked up
The "other" safety seems to be harris/toles
Sage ryan will come in and compete at the nickel safety/corner spot
Derrick davis seems to be back up ward.

He can play just about any position in the secondary i think aside from Outside corner. He’s fast, physical, has good technique as a man cover guy, good instincts. He’s just a good player even though he’s a bit undersized.
