How long do these people expect a measly $1,400 to last? This whole situation has made me understand why a lot of people stay in poverty.

Unemployment, no evictions.

It can last as long as the gubment wants.

People forget it's the businesses shelling out the money for state and federal unemployment taxes too. They getting screwed double.

Most people have a shitty work ethic. I'm a business owner, and I've worked 4 out of the last 6 Saturdays.

If you are a tradesman, electrician, plumber, you can easily make six-figures in Northwest Arkansas right now.

I know a woman who has 8 kids, got 1400 each plus herself.

What’s amazing is you have these people who are typically living check to check. They get in a unique situation where they receive a large chunk of money from the government. So here is a chance to actually have something in savings and elevate yourself. But instead they quit working until the money is gone then it’s back to living check to check hoping no emergency occurs and then borrowing money at 20% interest from a title loan place if there is an emergency

It's not so much that. It's the continuance of enhanced unemployment benefits

If you're getting state employment +300 a week you're making more not working than you are working a low wage job in a restaurant

Add to that the enhanced unemployment and that is more than a lot of waiters/waitresses make at these national chain restaurant like Chili's, Outback, etc....those are the only place I've seen this issue....local restaurants haven't had this problem in my experience.

Not just the 1400..govt is paying extra unemployment on top of state unemployment.. People are making way more staying home than they did while working. Its bullshite. The world is looking for employees right now. It is a HUGE problem.
