The Justice Department has determined it won’t file charges against the U.S. Capitol Police officer who fatally shot 35-year-old Ashli Babbitt during the storming of the Capitol on January 6th. In a press release announcing the decision, the Justice Department said the investigation did not find evidence that the officer had violated any federal laws, and there was nothing to contradict that he believed it was necessary to shoot at Babbitt "in self-defense or in defense of the Members of Congress and others evacuating the House Chamber."

And yet the officer who shot Duante Wright is getting charged with manslaughter.

Yes, and your point is?

Ah yes, I too like to compare apples to oranges.

It was a good shot imo.

I love how seriously the media takes this cops privacy...they can’t wait to blast the name and photo of a cop who shoots a minority
why can’t all cops be protected from identity until they are actually brought charges against them if this is the standard?

Proves women shouldn't be cops or insurrectionist.

Unarmed female carrying a US flag with no intent to harm anyone gets blindside shot? You would think that’s a good shoot.

Capital police.
Democrats don't view them as "cops."

My point is this:
1) Both Ashli Babbitt and Duante Wright were in the process of breaking the law. Babbitt was part of an unlawful assembly and illegal trespassing; Wright was resisting arrest and attempting to flee from police.
2) Both Babbitt and Wright were fatally shot by police officers despite the fact that they were unarmed and, especially in the case of Babbitt, posed no clear or immediate threat to life and limb.
3) Wright's killer is plastered all over the news, with half the western world knowing her name and what she looks like. And, as of this posting, no one knows who the hell shot Ashli Babbitt other than that it was a cop who pulled the trigger.
4) Kim Potter, the officer involved in the Duante Wright shooting, was charged within 48 hours of the video going viral. The same day charges are filed against her, it is announced that no charges would be filed against the officer who shot Ashli Babbitt (interesting timing by the way).

It's tragic and awful that she lost her life over that nonsense but this seems like the right call. I don't believe that officer did anything wrong. Just a bad situation.
That being said, she and I are the same race, so my understanding is that I'm supposed to ignore the reality of the situation, get irrationally angry, and riot. Going pick up my pallet of bricks after work. See you baws out there.

Imagine blasting some thug who’s breaking into your house and the prosecution says the intruder posed no threat to life and limb so you couldn’t legally shoot them. Lmao.
