She will strike a deal to avoid trial since they actually filed a reasonable charge.

Interesting contrast to Chauvin who was charged with 2nd and 3rd degree murder (along with manslaughter).

She was never the best student at Hogwarts, couldn't tell a wand from a tree branch.

Going to be hard to convince me that simply pulling the wrong weapon means you are guilty of a crime.

Of course.
And the city manager will be suing the city for his termination by the mayor.
Lots of lawsuits going around these days.

As he should.

Lol what?
Accidentally killing someone is the literal definition

Right.
Second degree manslaughter entails continuing a reckless act(s) which one is aware of committing, and which consciously disregards potentially fatal risks involved. That fits Potter's act so perfectly.

Why can’t a cop pull their gun in that situation? Are they supposed to let a criminal drive away and put the community at risk?

When your actions result in another persons death, even if it was unintentional, you have committed manslaughter.
This is the correct charge based on out legal system.
IMHO she made an honest mistake in the heat of the moment and I would hope a jury would allow a plea down to a lesser charge or probation of some type.

Second degree manslaughter in MN literally includes accidentally killing someone while hunting

Nah. He was resisting arrest and got shot. It doesn't matter to me that she meant to pull her taser. He was getting into his car, which made him a definite threat to the officers. He could have pulled a weapon or tried to run them over. The fact that she meant to tase him is secondary to these facts imo.

Sure, but none of that matters when the cop said “oops I thought I had a taser” immediately after.

Fitting charge.

Negligence that caused someone to die is one of the definitions of manslaughter, isn't it? I've defended Chauvin against his ridiculous charges for a while, but this one seems to fit. Zero excuse for a 26 year veteran to pull the wrong weapon and fire a shot before realizing the mistake.
Of course, homie would still be alive if he'd not resisted. Just like the rest of the people being rioted over. But that's a different thread.

It is. Morons here are going to try to say accidents aren’t manslaughter.

Then she should be fine as you are the grand arbitrator of the United States.
