Medical researchers at the Pentagon have created a microchip that will detect COVID-19 when inserted under the skin.
Relax, conspiracy theorists — they’re not being disseminated via vaccines.
The revolutionary technology was developed by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, which operates under the Pentagon umbrella, according to Sunday night’s broadcast of “60 Minutes.” The top-secret unit was launched during the Cold War to study emerging technologies for military use — among them, innovations to defend soldiers from biological weapons.
Dr. Matt Hepburn, an infectious disease physician and retired Army colonel, revealed that the microchip, which is not in widespread use outside the Defense Department, could detect COVID-19 in an individual well before a patient zero spawns an outbreak.

Interesting.
Also, end times, anyone?

Why is the pentagon focusing on such frivolous things whenever they're supposed to be devoting 100% of their efforts to fight white supremacy and recruit chicks with dicks?

hopefully they program it so that it will alert you when you come to close to another who has covid. this is the kind of protection that trump couldnt develop because he doesnt care about infrastructure.

That's pretty creepy.

Why don't they put effort into a chip that detects something that's actually deadly?

Stout...stop pushing misleading bullshite to make yourself feel better about your decisions.

that's actually pretty cool and something that I can definitely see being more common in the future
whether we all agree with it or not, humans will become more connected to computers in the future
having a chip that can accurately detect viruses when they enter your body is kinda awesome if you try not to go all conspiracy theory about it

And how do you not “go all conspiracy theory about it”?
You would willingly allow someone to do this to you?
In Scruffy’s opinion, the risks far outweigh the benefits here.

You willingly carry a smartphone around with you. Not much different

If each chip could only detect one virus each, how many will you take?

Early cancer detection would be huge.

Put another quarter in the "Alex Jones was right" jar.

It isn’t implanted under my skin.
