This is beyond stupid, who wants a TLoU remake? It's barely 7 years old, and cancelling Days Gone 2?

Sony is losing left and right. Dumb decision after dumb decision. Playstation also wants to get into the mobile game market. Who the hell outside of japan cares about that?

Damn I hope the rumor about Days Gone isn't true. Game had an interesting story and world building. Definitely want to see what happens next

I disliked Days Gone so this doesn’t bother me. I don’t care about The Last of Us too much though so I’d have rather them done something else

Damn that sucks, Days Gone was a blast can't wait to beat it again on PC in 2 weeks and not locked at 30FPS.
FWIW, all the other sites say it was just the pitch for Days Gone 2 that was rejected. Sony Bend "tried unsuccessfully" to pitch Days Gone 2

This is the only justification I can find. There's no need for a remake at all, but they probably want to release something alongside the HBO series.

Days Gone not a big loss, but after not loving TLoU2 I'm definitely ready for ND to move on to something else. Seems a waste to leave a team so talented on a remake when even people who liked 2 aren't necessarily asking for more.

I guess it depends on their strategy. Heavy hitters like CoD and PUBG mobile make rediculous money. In 2020 PUBG mobile had an average of 7.5 million PER DAY spent by players.

I could see the appeal though for a complete remake of the 1st one. Lot more power available now in the PS5 instead of just a remaster back in the early days of PS4/Pro. Bet they could really smash the visuals and I'd definitely beat it again.
Native 4K, HDR, Raytracing rebuilding the first one from the ground up. I'm down for that.
