Couple years ago my 4th grader comes home talking about this book that his teacher is reading to the class and he really wanted to watch the movie. Apparently they never finished the book... At the end of the movie we were all just staring in stunned silence at the TV, and then both my kids just burst into tears. My younger one didn't sleep for a week.

No idea who thought that movie was a good idea for kids.

He told me about his combat experiences on his death bed in 1989. Heavy stuff to have to carry around for a lifetime.

Only time I ever saw him cry.

No one else on the planet ever knew that we're aware of.

Those guys were something.

Dear zachary.

Maybe technically more of a documentary than a movie but still. That reveal towards the end would make any sane person weep.

I just read a summary of this movie. That's pretty damn heavy for 4th grade

As a whole, Seven Pounds is about the most heart wrenching movie I've ever seen.

Blue Valentine

One of my all time favorite movies.. and definitely appropriate here.

The ending, the hotel scenes, and the ones where he shows up at her workplace are tough to watch.

Smart move by Ryan. If his wife is anything like mine she'd never shut up about it.
I can hear it now...
"Oh, drunk again eh? How do you think Captain Miller and the boys would feel about that? They all sacrificed themselves for you and here ya are drunk off your arse one more time! Just wasting your life away while those poor men made a real sacrifice"

No thanks lol
