Yeah, I've got some bad news on this front from where I live. They finally changed the mask mandate in my county to a "strong recommendation." I went to the grocery store today and saw that theh have taken down all of their "masks required" signs so I stuffed mine in my pocket. No one gave me any grief for not wearing a mask but the store is still requiring all of their employees to wear masks and I saw exactly one other person other than me shopping who was not wearing one. Everyone else shopping was still wearing them and this is in a fire hydrant red state.

Yessir. This is how it starts, and I have been doing my part all along.
I have noticed a LOT more people in the last month or so who just ignore the mask BS and go about their business.

None of the examples are here in the US. I’m in Orlando on vacation and this place is mask crazy. Walmart was packed and the patrons were 99.9% mask compliant. The venues are correcting people because the masks are under their noses. It’s the polar opposite where I live; I’m dejected.

My youngest is 22 and in college in Fayetteville, and much more stringent ‘leave me the hell alone’ libertarian. We went to the Hogs baseball game vs Bama a few weeks ago, and both took off our masks when we sat down like we were at a restaurant. About 5 minutes later, some usher is pointing at me to mask up, so I do. I look at my son, and he’s just ignoring the guy, who walks off once I mask up. So I’m like, oh yeah, I have to mask but you don’t. He said, “well maybe it’s because I don’t take shite off of people.” Love that boy.

I understand where you are coming from but you just have to lead by example. The sheep just follow. I was surprised by how many people here in Bama just follow blindly and not questioning anything. It drove me insane watching half the people walking around with a mask below their nose like it was going to do a fricking thing. Either take it off or wear it like you should if you are so damn scared. Just practice what you preach and people will start to wake up. I refuse to wear it and if anyone were to question it I would do business elsewhere. But no one here has ever said a word about me being maskless.

Only took a year for some people to grow a backbone. Still too many invertebrates, though.
