You think maybe all these assholes wearing masks might contribute to miss understanding a name? Perhaps a name typed in a tablet gets fat fingered and autocorrected? No clearly racist. Give me a fricking break

She probably gave her name as China to the employee.

It’s all about trial lawyers and settlements.

Kind of a hijack but relevant. Remember in 2018 when a customer at Bull Chicks on Coursey got her sammich and the receipt had a special note on it that read "Pickles Ni**a"?
She cried racism to the news instead of the actual business owner, who she assumed was white. It backfired beautifully because not only is the owner black but the employee who did it was black. The story died after this interview with the owner. He also refused to fire the employee.

"What happened was one of our employees, he's a black young male was goofing around on the register on Friday night," Owner Brent Ramsey said. "He typed in pickles n***a and sent it back to a white sandwich maker. Unfortunately, that ticket went out on the bag to a customer."
Ramsey said on behalf of the employee involved and his business, he is sincerely sorry to Varnadoe and whoever else this may have offended.
"That employee was taken off shift," Ramsey said. "That employee had their salary reduced because we give out tips. That employee is sorrier than anyone. He is beating himself up over this situation."
Ramsey said although he's already apologized to Varnadoe, he wanted her to know how sorry he was again.
"If Ms. Tanya is watching this, we apologize sincerely," Ramsey said. "On Facebook, she was asking for a public apology. I hope this fits for her."
Varnadoe said she has contacted an attorney, but hasn't made any definitive decisions on what she'll do nex

I hope she can recover from the trauma this must have caused. As a straight white male I cannot begin to try to understand her plight of having her name mispelled on a receipt. I pray it never happens to me. Thoughts and prayers to her family in this tough time.

Its been quite awhile since I've eaten at Chick-fil-A, I don't recall ever being asked my name when ordering in the drive thru.

Maybe they thought she said “Cheena”?

People are too fricking sensitive.
There is too much incentive for people to fake sensitivity over stupid bullshite they probably don't really care all that much about.

Who looks at the receipt at a fast food place?
Is she entering the data in her quickbooks for her taxes?
Is she making sure she was not overcharged by 47 cents?
Or is she looking for a mistake that someone else may have made.
No matter which of the 3 she was doing - she is still an unhappy person to be around.

But she doesn’t have a picture of the receipt?
Okay.
Okay.

When she got her receipt, she was shocked to find that her name was listed not as Tina but as "China."
Okay, let’s see it.
Also, I bet she said “China” as her name just to get this story going.

I wonder what they would have typed if she said her name was sideways cash.
