Per Wade, everybody's leaving and he's recruiting accordingly...

All four are gone, he says.

If this has already been posted somewhere, my apologies - I didn't see it.

What that means is assuming all the other guys stay, which I don't see any reason why any of them wouldn't given the opportunity for playing time they have coming, there are two scholarships to give.

And you'd expect both to come out of the transfer portal.

I'm thinking one of them needs to be for a lead guard who can give LSU something like what Smart did and the other needs to be for a big who can protect the rim a little and also can contribute as a pick-and-pop guy with some outside shooting.

Which we've all discussed already.

But now it seems like there's no ambiguity about it.

I bet we see some developments in the next couple of weeks.

I've been saying next year will be rough unless he pulls 2 top of the line guys.

Luckily there are 1000 players in the portal.

I don’t know. He pulled off a pretty good season his first year with Aaron Epps and Duop Reath as his best returning players. I liked watching them play, but they weren’t top of the line talent.

It’s like we don’t have 2 highly touted top 50 freshman coming in plus a transfer who averaged 16+ a game. Not counting whatever we add

Will jovante be the first player in the history of college basketball to declare 3 times and still not get drafted? Days will 100% not get drafted. Thomas will and Watford could be late 2nd.

I would bet a lot of money you were one of the posters who say we’re going to miss the tourney every year.

Not saying we’re going to light the world on fire but basketball is so different than football and that it’s possible for teams to turn over the entire roster and compete the following year.

One thing Wade has always been able to do at a high-level is put together a roster. Obviously transfer portal will be paramount as previously mentioned. And regardless of who we are able to get on campus, I’m hoping for a bit more commitment to sound defensive basketball.

I got faith that our boy Willie Wade will find a way to have a competitive squad competing in the SEC next year!!

I wish him all the best, but after watching Days all season, he is not currently an NBA caliber player

The free year will be a great asset. He can recruit veteran transfers who played well for a couple of seasons at programs which did not challenge for the tournament and who want one last good opportunity to experience March madness. Of course that market will be competitive but Wade and LSU's track record will be enticing. It would also help to have a Tremont Waters type recruit suddenly fall to the Tigers because th coach he signed with leaves the school.

If in Watford im coming back and going full alpha dog with exciting athletes around me. Come back and improve that outside shot, flirt with some triple doubles. I would still go through the draft process but ultimately come back. Smart has a better chance of getting drafted now because he came back. Mays had little to no chance after his Junior year and that last year really elevated him. Smart and Thomas should go now. I love Smart as much as any player since Darrel Mitchell so would love him back but this is his time. Days obviously should return but it sounds like his mind is made up.

Idk why you replied to my post twice in 2 hours with essentially the same response when my post never said or even implied he wasn’t? “Thomas will” = “thomas will be drafted/go early not later like probably watford.”
