I mean after watching Harris and Hampton last year I'd be saying we want other guys to play too. They both struggled so much.

Ward really makes a lot of sense at safety IMO since we seemingly have a lot of corners/nickel types and he wants to hit, he just needs to pack on like 10-15 pounds maybe.

Hampton leaving is his own dumb decision and it’s DUMB considering that safety room.

Sage Ryan can’t get here fast enough.

I mean, I personally don't want Cam Lewis starting at either safety position either.

I mean Hampton was struggling as a safety and not getting playing time in baseball. It makes sense for him to transfer, especially if he felt like he may have been done with football to focus on baseball.

There wasn’t a player on defense that didn’t struggle last year.

I think its more to do with the lack of upperclassmen at the position than anything else. Those freshmen will get playing time. You can't just play your starting 2 safeties 100% of the snaps the entire season. It just won't happen. You need depth. And we will likely play 3 safeties at once at some point.

We had the worst defense in the history of LSU last year. I highly doubt under O it gets any better. I think O has a bit more of a hand in the entire defense than most think

There were plenty of players better than Hampton.

Stingley
Ricks
Cox
Gaye
Ojulari
Stevens

To name a few

Then I guess we should be glad he reeled in the #2 and #4 safeties last year

Raydar Jones
McGlothern
Evans
should all get looks at S

Also, Alex Adams and Malik Nabers may need to get strong looks with the depth at WR

Not opposed to putting Kirklin back there either
