I mean Hampton was struggling as a safety and not getting playing time in baseball. It makes sense for him to transfer, especially if he felt like he may have been done with football to focus on baseball.
1) He isn't the big fish in a small pond anymore
and/or
2) He had really great early coaching and training in their system and maxed out early

Whats the story on this?
I think it was in reference to his MLB offers out of HS. Mo had a good offer but wound up here. Glad he did. Wished he'd stayed.

did you see our saftey play last year?
Come to think of it, I watched every down and I don't recall seeing safety play...

Sage Ryan can’t get here fast enough.
DC Darante is coaching Safety's, isn't he? There will be no excuses.....

as an MUS alum, this is sadly true. None of our small number of highly rated kids have ever panned out in D1 ball. Drew Richmond was probably the biggest bust of his class. Barry Brunetti never amounted to anything in college either. The only NFL players we've ever had was a punter in the 90s (Tom Hutton) and a few practice squad kids for short stints. And you're absolutely right about the coaching. The disparity between private school coaches and public is very large. Many private school coaches here are being paid sometimes several hundred grand a year so it makes sense.

i think this is more depth issue honestly. since hampton is gone that really only leaves harris, lewis, and toles. i agree we need more safety help and freshman will have to play asap.

We know they're all garbage. Last year showed me enough

How did his parents frick him over? If the kid wanted the experience of playing college football and baseball. Or just the experience of going to college. That's a crazy statement

Left off our best get at safety right now; Jay Ward. His last few games showed improvement. I think Davis gets some early of. Him being EE gives him a leg up on Sage. Sage and Davis are our starting safeties in 2022.
