I hope none of your coworkers read the OT, it won’t take long to figure out who you are.

Look man, I don’t think like that, but one guy literally told me that they wanted the head manager out and that he had 13 racial grievances on him already so they thought they could get him out now. They fricked up and told the wrong person. I’m telling you, I’ve been around racist white people and this is exactly what it felt like to me. It’s a fricked up situation. I’ve been there 4 and half years and busted my arse for those people and all I see are other black people moving up who have worked there for less than a year. To be a supervisor all you have to do it write a letter. I wrote a letter and another manager told me they’d put mine on the top of the list since I’ve been there so long and they know I’m a good worker. I haven’t heard anything about it and that manager is the one that changed the employees status to “rehire” after he was fired for workplace violence. I wish I could believe it had nothing to do with race, but unfortunately that’s all I can feel right now. I’ve been lied to so many times by those people and I wasn’t raised to be like that. I’m super confused and I understand what people are upset about with racism. Actually dealing with racism is a shitty feeling.

I know two delivery drivers for UPS. Both went to college. Both are making more money with better benefits trucking boxes around than in cubicle jobs they had before.

The average skilled plumber, by the way, makes more money than the average college grad. As it should be. The guy that gets rid of shite is more valuable than the guy doing useless shite.

Sucks that you have to work under those conditions, but I think it may just be your location. I have a friend driving out of the Sylva, NC hub and I can’t say I’ve ever heard him complain other than during the Christmas season and never about the situations you describe.

The money isn’t the issue. Some feeder drivers make over 100k a year. Drivers make about 60k off the tip.

Maybe consider GTFO of Montgomery and transfer to a place like Sylva.

I liked working for UPS. Pay was shite but the job was pretty fun (sorter) and a good workout

Like others have said, drivers and rig drivers make good $$

I did the same thing. Worked the local sort during college in the evenings. They gave a small scholarship per semester as well, and some nice spending money working 20ish hours per week.

I liked everyone I worked with and had no problems at all.
