as it should be as sinners are welcome but you do not change scripture and church law for them like so many churches have done already

LINK

quote:

The Vatican decreed Monday that the Catholic Church cannot bless same-sex unions since God “cannot bless sin.” The Vatican’s orthodoxy office, the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, issued a formal response Monday to a question about whether Catholic clergy can bless gay unions. The answer, contained in a two-page explanation published in seven languages and approved by Pope Francis, was “negative.”

Cancel the socialist woke Pope.

Liberals eating their own. It's a good thing.

We should really listen to the church that’s been raping kids when it comes to sex advice

This "Pope" and the last several haven't spoken for "the Church" in decades.

And they most certainly haven't spoken for God.

My opinions on this specific issue aside ....

... I loathe when humans “speak” for God.

Particularly humans who were voted—by other humans—to an office (the papacy) created by humans.

Ignorant statement.

To be a Christian is to be Christ like. Jesus did not do these despicable acts. Having a ton of knowledge about god does not mean you have given your heart to god and you know god.

These people who committed these acts are the opposite of a Christian.

Let God do the judging.
Our roles as followers are to serve, listen, give, forgive, and love.

So the Catholic Church should cease and desist from representing that it is the church Christ set up. Period.

Bishops and Cardinals worshiping sex with young boys is not Christianity. Ever.

surprised/not surprised

surprised this pope allowed this to be stated

but not surprise on the ruling, as Bible is clear on homosexuality being a sin. This is red lettered (Jesus said this) in the bible

the old addage in the church is, "hate the sin, not the sinner......"

I will catch flack here for it, but I've long stopped letting the Catholic Church's teachings dictate the terms of my relationship with God.

The Catholic Church has gotten so much wrong over the centuries (corrupt Church officials, witch hunts, crusades, selling of indulgences, coverups for molestation, etc.) that I've a hard time taking anything it says without a giant grain of salt.

I am, by no means, saying the Catholic Church is the only offender; it's just the one with which I am most familiar.

As a Catholic, this is the first time since Francis has been "Pope" that I can't believe he is on the right side of something.

I gotcha.

Again, I was speaking generally, not with regard to this issue.
I understand (and respect) that Catholics believe the Supreme Pontiff is the Vicar of Christ; but at the end of the day, he is human—like the rest of us.
Only Jesus holds the keys of the kingdom.

Why? Because for once in his reign of terror, he actually followed the teachings of the Bible?

To be absolute .... the Catholic Church should immediately terminate every Priest in every church that ever practiced on Alter Boys. That would be a good start.

Unless of course, the Pope and his gaggle of Cardinals got their start on said Alter Boys. Then all is forgiven in their minds ...... I feel hell will be heavily populated by the Priesthood of the Catholic Church.

100 Hail Mary's and money to the Church will not buy the forgiveness of this particular sin.

Plenty of Biblical references against the practice.

Not sure why some of you think this is surprising. The Catholic Church has never wavered in her teaching regarding homosexuality- unlike many Protestant “churches.”

Ether Catholic Church will receive so much backlash over this, and they'll walk it back.
