Just beyond awful, all of this.

They really, really attempted to paint this evil bitch with the "GIRL POWER" brush.

The ending sucked. We should've experienced more schadenfreude from her final punishment.

***spoiler***

i'd argue getting capped out of nowhere after thinking she was getting away with it, is a final punishment.

i was thoroughly disgusted with Departed's ending till Marky Mark showed up. It's a different way to tidy up a movie but it can work.

on the flip side, you're cheering for daniel craig to get away with it in Layer Cake and the shot at the end throws that into limbo.

2 different movies. I really enjoyed the first half. The second half was ridiculous. A grifter that suddenly turns into Jason Bourne.
The end was satisfying, but the movie was not good overall.

yeah i think my initial review was

good first half
mediocre next quarter
terrible final quarter

was not a good movie overall, even though they did a good job making everyone hate RPs character

Very good movie and an interesting premise.

I watched it, was interested for a while and then fast forwarded to the end. There were many things about this movie I did not like.

SPOILER ALERT BELOW:

The ending made up for a lacking second half, that she got what she deserved from the same person who she hung out to dry to begin the movie and all this while she was basking in her glow at the peak.

Ya that made the movie more than worthwhile in my opinion plus the fact that this was a story topic was something different and her character was someone you loved to hate, just like in Gone Girl. She does seem to have aged a bit though

If you disagree about the movie, fine, keep enjoying the cookie cutter stuff. I like it outside the box a bit and yes it could have been better but I won't knock it cause of that.

Did it bother anyone else that the driver did not notice them tailing him? I just feel like everything I've noticed about mob movies they are very trained to notice things like that.

I don't think anyone doesn't like it because its not a cookie cutter movie, but they should keep it somewhat realistic/believable. They may as well have superman fly in riding on the sun and save all the old people with his healing powers. It's not cookie cutter and makes about as much sense as what happened.

I like the movie. I found that Rosamund Pike‘s character had a very satisfying ending as a viewer. I was rooting for the character to have a not so happy ending and the fact that she got a taste of success only for it to be taken away from her like that is fantastic

yes one of the many glaring plot holes in this movie

the biggest plot holes were:
1. there were a LOT of "emergency" hearings for "neglected" seniors she was involved with. Seemingly all of the clients were the result of emergency hearings. The courts may not have caught on but local family attorneys would definitely have caught on to what she was doing

2. she came to just at the critical time to escape the flooding car

3. she pushed out the back window of the car as it sunk and after the car was filled with water, this is physically not possible because the pressure of the outside water would be like pushing against a brick wall

there are more, but these are some of the biggest ones
