I forgot that Wednesday was also the day the NCAA shutdown its championships. Insane day

The night everything went crazy I took a shower after checking this board and everything was normal.
I came back a few minutes later and the first page was filled with “nba cancelled” threads. Sportscenter and the news were going nuts about COVID. Seemed like it happened in an instant.

I watched ULM lose to Ole Miss Tuesday night. Wednesday's game was cancelled.

Shutting down was always the wrong decision. It was never a good idea.
It makes me angry that we still have limp writers today who still believe in the Corona hype.

If he already had it he infected the microphones anyway by talking into them.
If not, it was just a joke that aged poorly.

That’s right. Your whole TCU team caught the swine flu and still dominated the Rose Bowl.

Right. I think we are at zero total covid deaths among athletes, but I stopped counting after a while.

Nah, we had no idea what we were dealing with. Easy to say that a year later but at the time shite was crazy.

That was such a surreal freaking time. The days leading up to it there were talks that the NBA would ban fans from games. I thought that was absolute crazy talk. I didn't see that happening at all. Someone could probably find my posts on here because I was adamant that this virus would be here and gone in a month.
Then that morning I believe, the Warriors announced they would be playing all home games w/o fans. Next thing you know, NBA canceled. Shortly after, March madness cancelled, and the rest is history.
A few days later, my job sent us home. They told us it would be for 2-3 weeks the absolute longest. Here I am still working from home.

Yes, great point. Vince nailed a 3 in what turned out to be his last game.

Seems like a good reason not to make any drastic changes to life.

I wonder how many reporters he infected. Because that would be a shame.

We went from literally packed basketball arenas in both the NBA and conference tournaments, plus full spring training games, to everything shutdown for 1/4
That was a surreal
Moment to me. I won’t ever forget watching that Mavericks game and they announce the games canceled and telling people to leave the arena in an orderly fashion and you can see the people wanting to panic .
Edit : my 30 for 30 name for the episode will be the screenshot of Gobert rubbing the mics titled
“ is this thing on?”
