I did find the initial faux horror at playing the All-Star game comical. You know they all want to go there and play cause it's one big party weekend for them. I think it's a good example of the very hypocrisy you speak of.
They know the Covid ain't a threat to them, if they get they'll be fine and it will be diagnosed immediately so they can quarantine and be no thread to others.
But they have to hold true to the narrative and pretend they are horrified and being made by the Man to dance at the All-Star game when in reality most of them in fact love the spectacle of the weekend and want very much to be there.

Honestly.... I'd think that the people who really like to watch basketball... white or black... just hold their breath while these athletes do their white knighting because all they wanna do is watch a game.
As much as I hate the political stands in sports.... I will just mute the TV, because ultimately I want to watch baseball.... or football...... or on a rare occasion basketball.

At this point it is what it is. I was starting to get into basketball a couple of years ago while the Celtics were making their run and I was going to a bunch of Nuggets games, but Lebron and others endorsing people committing mass atrocities while simultaneously shitting on everyday people for not "getting involved" was kind of an instant shut down moment.
Also as a dirty casual, the officiating and pure deference towards star players is kind of insane.
