I’d sit in a house that was 100 degrees if I could talk to my dad face to face one more time.
Count your blessings and dress accordingly.

I’ve heard of this place called Florida where many of them retire to. I wonder why?

If you can’t stand a house at 72, you’re wearing too much clothing. It is an idyllic ambient temperature.

The second there were no more kids at my parents house they started leaving the thermostat on about 78. At least they didn’t do it until we we left.

He’s your old man, he likes to see you sweat.

Or maybe he does that so you don’t stick around for dinner.

I'm 53 and before I started cancer treatment I was overweight around 230 or so and stayed hot all the time. I lost close to 100 lbs due to the treatments and surgeries and could never seem to get warm at such a low weight.(135 lbs) I am back up to about 175 at 6 feet tall and now normal temps feel normal, 72 is cool and 75 is too damn hot but from 68-73 feels perfect to me.

I always wondered why old people’s dream retirement setting is always a place where it’s hot af but it’s starting to add up.

FIL is 88 and he wears a sweatshirt and sweatpants in his house in the summe4 with A/C on 78. He says he is cold all the time.

This. Today is actually the 3rd anniversary of my Dad passing away. I talk to him in my head, would do what you said to talk with him face and face again.
