My buddy just bought a used FN-15 with upgraded competition 20" barrel from another buddy. We were all talking about an optic. I suggested an EO Tech. Am I correct or am I highly regarded?

If it were me, I’d set it up to shoot accurately at 500 yards with that 20” barrel. The EOTech, itself, won’t really open all the doors that gun has to offer, unless you use a magnifier.

Do what you want to ultimately and have fun shooting!

Couple that holographic sight with 3 or 5x magnifier and it will be far better.

Thanks. I can be highly regarded from time to time.

You’re probably highly regarded by your mom, but I’m not sure about anybody else.

You’re also correct if you want a fast sight for close, quick reaction shots. It’s not the only correct choice but it’s a good one, and it’s what I have on my “oh crap” AR.

LPVO > EoTech

...especially if eye issues are at play, like astigmatism.

This. With that barrel length go with a LPVO. It would serve the gun better and you still get the 1x of a EOTech.

Depends on the purpose.

With a 20" barrel, it's the correct choice.

Eo Tech belongs on a 10-16" barrel that will be used for fast target acquisition.

Because this question doesn't really make sense, I'm going to assume that's an autocorrect from "retarded"

I’m the opposite of that statement. I have an astigmatism where my LPVO is blurry to an extent and my Eotech is crystal clear.

Eotechs are awesome. Aimpoints are awesome. Trijicon are awesome.

They are different enough for both preference and functionality to be noticeably different.

Does he want longer shots? Or fast targeting?

You cannot go wrong with any of the above.

Came here to say this. Need to try before you buy. Some people will not be able to use an EOTech.

Get a strike eagle in 1-6x or 1-8x and enjoy the best of both worlds.
