So that’s why your check for $2000 hasn’t arrived yet. Trump screwed up the mail. It’s not embedded into some brown person’s skull in Syria after all.

It seems to me a lot of posters have preconceived animosity towards USPS. I don’t get it - where else can you put .50 cents on a letter and it be guaranteed to make it across the country in 5 days or less?

Millennials always looking for that instant gratification.

Your OP isn’t about letters. It’s about packages, which aren’t being delivered as advertised. UPS and FedEx are vastly superior, and it’s because they’re not propped up artificially by the US government.

Out here in the sticks I have two great USPS ladies. Always happy, friendly, downright neighborly. Same with, Frank, my morning UPS guy. Now the pm UPS guy and the fed/ex crew do a good job, but not as spectacular as the others.

One of my dogs will jump into the cab of the UPS drivers truck on his way up my driveway if he happens to be out on the property when he’s making a delivery

It’s different out here.

I'm a 30 year retired USPS employee.

Jussie Smollett was more believable than this stat.

That stat is like all the fast food drive-ins that stop the clock on your order as if you got your food, then they tell you to pull up. This makes their Speed pf Service times look fantastic. Then they don't care how long you wait, while they fill the orders behind you.

Maybe 93% of what they actually delivered was on time.

Jokes aside, the USPS is an absolute joke.

Just last year it required $10 billion from Congress to keep operating and its total number of shipments (both letters and packages) was down to around 55 billion.

This doesn’t include the $49.2 billion behind in pension funding payments it currently owes - and hasn’t made its $5.6 billion annual contribution since 2014.

Here’s a couple of fun facts for you: it would be the third largest employer in the country if it was independent of the government, and it has more locations than Starbucks and McDonald’s combined. It is hemorrhaging money on every front, is way over extended, and it is has zero chance of ever being able to meet its contractual retirement obligations for its employees - were it not for Congress then it would collapse worse than Enron and bankrupt a million retirees. There is zero comparison between the USPS and the likes of FedEx or UPS.

My sister still has a package that was ordered before Christmas and shipped through the USPS that has never arrived. It has been shipped to multiple places in the state of Alabama, except the correct post-office. That “greatest” Federal institution sure has come through for her. Luckily, the seller replaced the item and got the replacement to her another way.

USPS doesn’t even make an attempt to deliver to my house if the package doesn’t fit in the mailbox. They claim my house is a mile from the road. It’s not, but I believe these numbers if they’re counting leaving a note in my mailbox telling me to come get my package as delivered.
Same way at my house.

BS! They even lie and say it was delivered and the mailman never even showed up! Happened tons of times to me.

I have a business and ship out a bunch of packages weekly. They even send email confirmations that our outgoing package were picked up, while I sitting there looking at the boxes by the door.

I know this is going to blow your mind, but there's this thing called "email". And you can send a letter instantly for free. Crazy huh?

but you can't get something across the country in 5 days, this is a lie. Oh, and 11 days for a PRIORITY envelope to get to my destination. Could've driven it there sooner.
