Dear Arik...
How many teams are you going to quit on? Ain’t cool.
Sincerely,
Gunner Kiel

He may end up playing for Deion Sanders at JSU.

I’ve lost interest, thanks though.

I thought he had to sit out this year, why did he commit to Fla to begin with?

The one HS game I watched of him, I came away more impressed with BJ Ojulari than Arik.
Arik made a few of nice big plays, but BJ was a constant disrupter on seemingly every defensive snap...and then wouldn't take off any plays playing OL as most two-way players tend to do.
There was something about BJ's motor/endurance/effort, beyond skill/talent, that told me he'd be seeing significant time as a freshman. It also made me think it wouldn't be unimaginable that BJ might have more of an impact in the long-run than his higher ranked teammate.

There is a reason everyone wanted bj.
He already looks and acts like a junior.
Thing is lsu needs to grab another bj ojulari.
Ali gaye will be gone after next year

You’d have to think that Ali and Andre having monster years at SDE would put us in an even better position for Shemar Stewart

Rumors are there was some academic requirements that he didn’t meet to get into Florida.
At this point, does he have a path to being academically eligible at any school for 2021?
I’m not an expert on the academic rules but if it’s almost March and he’s not enrolled.. I would think not?

No bad juju his way, LSU has moved on.
Hope this kid gets his shite straight soon though or he's gonna lose a lot of $.

I'm sure he could take summer classes or online classes.
I got a couple questions.
Let's say he wanted to return to lsu. Would we have to use our final 2020 spot for him?
Also, what are the rules for in conference transfers? Doesn't he have to get a waiver or something?

A recruit only counts against numbers once (the 25), but obviously would count against the 85 (81 for us)

Many years ago, a highly recruited linebacker from the Dallas area, Jesse Armstead, committed to five different schools, and decommitted from the first four, before picking Miami. He stayed there, and later played 10 seasons in the NFL.
Surely many who followed Armstead's recruiting in those days wondered if he would ever decide.
Gilbert is even worse and makes Armstead look like a player of strong commitment by comparison.

I am wondering at this point if he failed too many drug tests at LSU, didnt want to be suspended so he transfered out, got clean, and is now trying to come back without being suspended. Would be a pretty slick way to avoid being suspended but I don't even know if that's possible

BJ on the leadership council as a true soph says a lot about him

quote:Man I don’t know how you do that to the other kids on roster at this point. It’s time to move on. Much like Zach Evans last year- the talent isn’t worth the mental gymnastics to keep this kid happy.
I might get downvoted into oblivion but what a strong message it would extend to both the current roster and future recruits if Ed O went after him again and tried to help get him back in the fold. Would really hammer home the fact that coach loves his guys, even if they decide to leave or lose their way for awhile.
Maybe that’s too forgiving. I obviously don’t know anything behind the scenes and this might be an awful idea but all things being equal it might make a lot of sense.
I hope someone sits Arik down and he gets his priorities straight. Honestly a trip to juco to humble him is the best thing for him imo
You can have all the talent in the world but with no work ethic you’ll never be successful. Regardless of what you want to do for a living
