Obviously not SEC football level, but I've coached college athletics for a good while. The whole thing is hypothetical if we're looking at it this way. The kid decided to leave. Now, he potentially (because we don't really know) wants back in. I'm fine with it, but there would (if it were me) be conditions that he has to meet to get back in good standing. Him humbling himself is not nearly too much to ask, particularly in a situation in which the staff clearly has the leverage. To me, asking the kid to come back gives that leverage away. Not to mention the terrible optics of asking him and being rejected.

How about the LB from Houston Kellen Jones:
Signed with Michigan, left before fall camp started.
Enrolled at Oklahoma that august, red shirted.
Follows Venerables to Clemson the next year
Grad Transfers to Wisconsin after 3 years there.

Didn't expect to see this name here, I actually know his folks.

For a little context, he committed to Rich Rod at Michigan, who got fired before he got there. Stayed committed and signed with the new coach (name escapes me), but got there in the summer and regretted it.

Actually didn't redshirt at OU, but made his way into the 2 deep as a true freshman and mostly played special teams. Sat out a year after the Clemson xfer, but then tore his ACL a couple games into his first year he was able to play.
