I was given a Stihl string trimmer that has not been used for about five years. Would like to have it serviced. Looking for suggestions.

Who would pay 50 + bucks to service something that's 5 years old, when you can go buy a new one for 150.00

K & D Rent All and Hardware Store on Old Hammond Hwy near Airline Hwy is one option.

Stines will service Stihl products. I know the one in Walker does, not sure about the one in BR.
Why does it need to be serviced? Is there a specific problem you’re having?

If you are handy with fixing things then this will be easy to do. Remove carb and order new one ( Amazon ) along with a new plug, air filter and fuel filter (usually in fuel tank ) and should start right up.

Not the ACE on Highland. Dropped some equipment there last Spring and after a number of calls and a couple of months I just bought a new piece of equipment. Still have never had a call back from them about the piece I dropped off. That’s service right there!

Depending on your location in BR, St. Gabriel Hardware (down Hwy 30) or Blanchard's Building Materials (Hwy 1 south of Dow) might be viable options.
