Tennessee losing 21-17 at Memphis in November 1996. Tennessee was ranked 6th and went on to finish 10-2 and ranked 9th in the final poll. Memphis finished the season at 4-7.
Love Fulmer but this was a classic move of his, many near catastrophes throughout his tenure and towards the end many actual catastrophes like Wyoming....

They had 3 OT games, could've had 5 losses that year so not really stacked.
Every ranked team they played that year besides Miami they beat by 4 points or less.
They played 12 straight games that year, not to mention they were dealing with katrina stuff to start the season, then rita to delay the tenn game. That team with regular bye weeks would have demolished anyone, like they did against Miami.

One I can’t explain is ULM actually beat a Nick Saban coached team in Tuscaloosa.

The 2008 Auburn vs Mississippi State game stands out as a really weird one. It has to be the lowest scoring college football game of all time that didn't include at least one of the two teams getting shut out.
Final score:
Auburn 3
Miss State 2

I still don’t understand how LSU manhandled Georgia like they did in 2018 considering they were #2 at the time and pretty loaded that year. LSU had a solid team but I was shocked how they dominated that game.

Georgia had not been playing particularly well leading into that game, especially against Missouri and Tennessee. That was a team that let the ranking get to their heads and got their arse beat for it. They played much, much better football down the stretch of that season after that game.
Also, Fromm was just miserably bad that day. He overthrew Hardman for an easy touchdown on the opening drive and it snowballed from there. He should have been benched at halftime.

2003 Oklahoma losing 35-7 to K-State in the Big 12 title game. That Oklahoma offense was killer. They only scored 20 points in Tuscaloosa but other than that they scored at least 34 points in every game leading to the Big 12 CG, scoring 50+ in 7 of their 12 games, that was also the year they beat TAMU 77-0.
Then inexplicably they could only score 7 points against K-State

I remember after the game when people were debating whether Oklahoma should be in the BCS Title game or LSU (nobody thought the #1 team in both polls would be left out - USC) and the player said:
"A week ago we were being called the greatest team of all-time, now everyone is saying we suck."

Wasn’t Virginia Tech and Wake Forest scoreless going into Overtime a few years ago?

I'm just saying that was the beginning of Lucky Les, pulling out tons of close games because he out-talented teams, until he didn't.
