Junior suite vs Excellence Club. Excellence Playa Mujeres.

Wife and I are going in July of this year but cant decide on which room to choose. Are the perks and amenities worth the extra money? or should I skip that and use the savings for Isla Mujeres, the spa or something else altogether? The difference in price is about $400

Was wondering the same thing my self yesterday. I went with the non EC junior swim up. Interested in hearing the responses though

I've stayed in the Terrace Suite with plunge pool. It's nice being in the middle of everything and having your own pool. On our only trip to that resort, there were very few topless women at the pool or on the beach compared to all of the other resorts that we've been to. When you're higher up and it's more private, and other people were more outgoing and more fun in general. We like to have springbreak for adults and have a good time. We went with another couple and met 2 other couples that were younger than us and everyone let loose on the terrace. While the place is nice, it skewed older and slower when we went several years ago. The only thing that I recall with EC was the butler guy helped us with a few things at our room, took our breakfast order in person and had it back to us quickly. We also had access to a roped area on the beach, which actually made it feel even stuffier and unfriendly amongst the vacationers - if that makes sense.

Is this a thing? Been to multiple AIs in Mexico and never noticed this to be even remotely close to happening or a thing.

ABSOLUTELY
I've stayed at 3 of these and one was crazy fun spring break for adults and the other 2 were more laid back. You just had to find the right group of people.

I haven't either including Excellence. This guy parties. I personally don't think Club is worth it but I also don't have a big liquor preference, I doubt many who choose to get it regret doing it either.

Reading this thread has me ( single low 30’s.) wanting to splurge and do excellence club here yet since I’m not on a honeymoon or bringing a girl with me.: I think I’ll just go to Temptations instead .

Did excellence club once and I don’t feel it’s deserving of a higher price tag and prefer swim you rooms over a private pool. I felt as if the money was better spend elsewhere.

Club is not worth it in my opinion but as you can tell in this thread people have different opinions. When you’re drinking all day and at dinner I never needed to have liquor in room. You can go to the club area for snacks but you have a few snacks in the room anyway so it wasn’t that appealing for us

I agree. Plus you can order drinks on room service

I agree with this, but by us having the room with the rooftop heated plunge pool and having several other couples come to our room - it worked out well. I had the staff overstock us on our beers, liquors, limes, snacks, etc. and have the other top shelf liquors removed. The staff did everything we asked of them. Basically, once we felt the overall vibe was too laid back ( people reading books at the pool, napping, etc ) we moved the party to our rooftop.

Without a doubt, Temptation is the funnest place. We haven't been since the remodel a few years ago, but it was so much fun the trips before. As far as going single, ( if you've never been ) just be cool when meeting new groups and couples - you'll be welcomed in. There's always a group of single guys that are disrespectful because of all topless women which is disappointing.
Also, for others reading, if you or your partner are not comfortable being around a lot of topless women - don't go here. It's like walking into a locker room. The initial shock subsides after a bit for most people, but we did make friends with people that were not comfortable being around it.

I didnt even know they didnt have liquor in the regular rooms anymore. Last time we went excellence offered a better qualty in room liquor selection but even the swim up rooms had it

Yea every time we’ve been they’ve had liquor in the regular rooms

Thanks for your input, it actually just put it over the top and I booked a trip in early May for a few days.... didn't even think about it as I booked it but researching and I'll be there for Cinco de Mayo.
Got a Lush Oceanfront suite. first class flights...
Took 2020 off from travel so we're doing it right for this trip

Is Temptation a swinger resort or just topless?
Posted on 2/25/21 at 10:19 am to TigerScratch
This sounds like a very strange vacation.

I enjoy the undertones of the private pool party, thread has turned into a secret swingers good meet up spot.
