I love how dumb shits like you spout this with no idea what you’re talking about. Space command has been in Colorado for the past 20 years. Read this and then tell me again why Colorado, the location the past 20 years, doesn’t make the most sense.

Which shows your completely lack of understanding of the various space related commands and headquarters all located in Huntsville, not to mention NASA's Marshall Spaceflight Center.

Because Space Command is an Air Force Command. US Space Force is an entire new branch of the military that has a far bigger mission set than just what happens at AF's Space Command.
You really should shut the frick up. You make yourself look like a bigger idiot every time you open your mouth.

Simple: there is already way too much military infrastructure in Colorado Springs.
Fort Carson
Peterson AFB
Cheyenne Mountain
Schriever AFB
USAFA
That's 5 installations in one city.

The difference is that all five I mentioned are within the Colorado Springs city limits.

There’s a basing process. They either followed it or they didn’t. If everything is in order, I’m sure it’ll be fine. If they made a decision that was against the criteria solely for political reasons, I hope they do fix it.
Don't have a problem with this. But we are talking about red stone arsenal, not some small random base

Where do you think that command came from? It’s the exact same pieces that were already operational dipshit. It’s new in name only, the fact that you don’t realize that and go so apeshit about a perfectly logical point of view illustrates my point

So your argument is the location has too much to support there already?
You realize that infrastructure is needed and necessary to support and just means more spent tax dollars establishing it elsewhere. Regardless, we have too many capabilities, with this type of hyper specialized branch of service in a centralized area isn’t a strong argument here

Agreed. Leadership as well. See General Raymond’s bio.

I don’t disagree, so long as they followed the process and the decision was in the best interest of the DOD, not a political decision that saddles the DOD with higher costs (which would come at the expense of other infrastructure needs). IG will figure it out.

COS in no way compares to the talent in HSV...

Would probably just attract more carpetbaggers anyway.

Probably with a tad bump in budget, wouldn't you think? To ya know, develop assets at a higher and more substantial clip, perhaps to get far ahead and stay far ahead of the competition who are no doubt earnestly and aggressively working on their own gains?
Are you of the opinion that space is not the next frontier in warfare? I mean, tanks and battleships are no doubt still important, but surely no one would disagree that advanced technology operating from the highest "ground" possible is the current holy grail of warfare.

What are the chances the Biden administration takes this from Alabama and gives it to a blue state? This would hurt our state.
While I would love it in Huntsville, got a lot a fam that would benefit with it there and some good buddies in Space command.
The only plus that Alabama had over Colorado is land space on Redstone and maybe cheaper labor for civilians. Most of the former USAF Space Command was set up in Colorado to start with. Doesnt make sense to move it all for existing space to HSV.

NASA's Marshall Spaceflight Center.
Dude this is Space Force not NASA, most Space Command launches will be handled by Cape Canaveral or Vandenberg AFB in CA.

You don't know much about Huntsville and that area do you Yankee?
Obviously not - somewhere in the South, between Houston and Cape Canaveral makes the most sense - Houston/Florida for obvious reasons, Southern Mississippi has Stennis, Bama has Huntsville, etc.
Colorado? Doesn't make any practical sense. I mean, even MARS is in Virginia.

There was a 5% budget increase requested by the Air Force (who is still managing these items for them) for space force budget. I don’t know where you were going with the rest of it, my point was that space force current capes are exactly what was pulled out of other services at this point to counter the guy trying to explain that it doesn’t matter the Air Force had space command in Colorado. Not sure how you got to all that other stuff
