Pels shouldn’t have paid BI if he can’t close games

He doesn’t want the ball at clutch time He’s forever a Robin and never gonna be a Batman

Let’s all be super emotional!

That's fine. Just give it to Zion. At least he's aggressive

Not emotional Hester...just truth

Thank God we got our Batman then

Meh, it was an off game for BI. The ball should have been in Zion's hands. What a shitty drawn up play.

BI was the Batman last season, he needs to realize he's not that anymore and this is Zion's team and he needs to play Robin.

Ingram plays decent during the game.. but when crunch time comes, the D tightens up on him because they basically know he's going to force up some pull-up bullshite from 20 feet

We traded one robin for another. BI got paid so SVG has find a way to prove the office made the right decision

In the NBA Robin gets paid too.
Alfred gets sometimes gets paid.
Especially when your Batman is on a team friendly contract for now.

B.I. got what he was worth. Money doesn't make you the no. 1 guy but being an elite talent gets you max money. He is worth every fricking penny.
Horrednous shot but Zo shouldn't be jacking up clutch 3s either and Brandon fought to put himself in a position to salvage the play.

BI just has work thru this pressure he is putting on himself.

Maybe Batman will keep his team friendly contract in 3 years (his contract will be enough to repair his batmobile in 3 years).

This game was depressing. Make dunks. Take care of defensive rebounds. Don’t foul 3 pt shooters. Don’t have absolutely retarded live ball turnovers. And we win by a minimum of 30. Not even an exaggeration. The 4th quarter shouldve been a Thornwell corner 3 party.
Props to Zion and Redick. They were clutch. Brandon was an emotionless inefficient zombie all game and should not have seen the court in the 4th quarter. He had a chance to redeem himself with 2 wide open 3 pt spot ups, but he decided to dribble into traffic and airball a couple of mid ranges instead.
That was a soul crushing loss and I do not typically get emotional about regular season games.
Ingram would be on the bench or the trade block if I were the GM. He has lost his fire and swagger lately. Makes me wonder if something is going on off the court with him or he’s sincerely just having a mental issue with Zion being the new focal point. Either way he has to get it figured out because it’s costing us winnable games. Brandon is legitimately a minus on the court if his shot isn’t falling and he is still deciding to be a gunner on key possessions.

Holy shite this is the worst take I’ve seen in a good long while. Up there with the Keldon Johnson>>>Zion takes Spurs Twitter was dishing out a month ago. You wanna get rid of a guy who was an All-Star at age 22, is putting up better numbers despite a lower usage rate this year, and is only gonna get better all cause of one fricking game? fricking insanity. Zion and BI have to learn to play together and it’s gonna take a little bit longer than the 45 games they’ve shared the court for. So calm the frick down, it’s gonna be alright. It’s probably a bad idea to trade a franchise center piece because he had a bad night.

It’s honestly not about tonight. It’s an accumulation effect of every clutch minute for the past 2 years. And I like Brandon, but if you all can’t watch the guy and see something is majorly off with his demeanor lately, I don’t know what to say. Getting a guy who can defend and doesn’t hijack key possessions is not a terrible idea tbh. Better to do it now, while he’s at peak value.

So do you think Zion can do it by himself every possession for 48 minutes a game? That everyone else should just clear out and let Zion go? We saw tonight what can happen. Portland started aggressively doubling him and forcing the ball out of his hands. I mean I’m all for doing it as much as is reasonable, but at the end of the day, the NBA today is all about shot creation, mostly for ones self. BI is the only player on the team who can do that consistently other than Zion, and to be honest I’m not sure anyone else even has the potential. So BI doesn’t “hijack” possessions, he’s merely just another option, a highly efficient one at that. We’re talking about a guy who takes most of his shots from mid range or 3 and still has a TS% of 59.5%. His assist numbers continue to rise and his turnover percentages are down sharply from last season as well. You have to have that secondary creator in order to win shite in this league and think BI will develop into one of the very best in the NBA.
Oh, and he shot 46% in the 4th last year, so he’s shown he can take and make big shots. He’s struggling this year no doubt, but I’d wait a while before we completely write the kid off.

Huh? He literally took the last shot of the game and has done it before.
You could argue he's not efficient at it yet, but to say he doesn't want the clutch shot is just nonsensical

quote:fair enough, you make a valid point. Definitely efficiently then ( stolen from game thread)In 43 minutes of clutch play this year, Brandon Ingram is 7-26 (26.9%), 0-7 from three, and has 6 turnovers.

For his career he is 58-164 (35.4%) in clutch situations.
... it’s just frustrating that we don’t have a guy that can finish games. I thought BI was the answer clearly I was wrong
