I have a Great Idea For Free Trade Schools

Here's the concept...
First, you take an aptitude test to measure what areas you may be best qualified be trained in.
Second, establish agencies that will offer dozens of various trades that are aligned with the need of the agencies. These "agencies" will provide various public service for the US and will even help other nations around the world. Here's what I'm thinking for agencies:
1. Sea based. If you like touring the world on state of the art ships you can be trained in any number of skills while enjoying the nautical life.
2. Land Based. If you like camping, hiking and living off the grid this is your place.
3. Land/Sea Based. This gives you the best of 2 worlds. You travel the world and on a whim can be expect to hop off the ship and enjoying a brief land adventure before moving on the the next excursion.
4. Air Based. If you like jets you may want to look here. Traveling the world on the most sophisticated aircraft in the world. Next stop anywhere!
5. Space Based: Why not? We now have the technology to search the stars for the next great adventure.
Here's the "fine print":
You have to agree to a tern of service for 4-6 years and here's the best part: IT'S FREE AND WE WILL PAY YOU!
You can choose trades from medical worker to mechanic and dozens of more.
Heck, we will even feed you and provide you clothes and provide you housing...
When you are done with your agreement, you can leave and take advantage of the free training to start a new life or you can stay with us and make a career of our services.

Many countries tie college to an aptitude test. Unlike here where any functioning retard can get accepted to a university. If colleges were harder to attend trade schools would become more popular. Also do away with majors that don’t contribute to society

Not a bad idea but one point of contention: there is no such thing as free. That’s a progressive bait and switch tactic and we need to get away from it.

First, nothing is free, someone is paying for it.
We should encourage more careers to go to an apprenticeship style of education, this would not eliminate all college, but would make the classroom portion shorter and cheaper.
We should absolutely not establish "agencies" to do a damn thing. This sounds like big government fricking up stuff even harder.
We should not take the freedom from people who want to learn about things that don't make you any money, we just shouldn't have to pay for it. Eliminating areas of education you think is worthless is a pretty damn slippery slope, hell it is beyond slippery.

spot on. Not only do you not pay for it they pay you a wage until you complete it. That's out there right now for anyone with gumption.

Well you know equality, equity and all.
TX has top6-10% rules for HS grads. So top of classes of bad schools automatically get into universities. Many pushing out kids from better schools that can handle the higher education requirements of a school like UTX. For them to wash out after a semester or 2.
