I likely wont ever get in to it until it proves long term stability. There's a reason why I prefer vintage sports and trading cards over modern and don't touch that stuff unless it's personal wants

yes anything from now moving forward is going to be just the luck of getting selected for a pack

demand is really high so low odds on that.

topshots could also increase supply but then that will drastically lower the current value of the S2s

I mean you already know the exact number of each "card" in each set is made.

yes, i mean for every series moving forward.

the point being, will random players who are selling in the hundreds now hold market value once more series get released?

we know the S1s will maintain value, im just not positive about the S2s. i only hold lebron moments for S2s

im holding any and all players for S1

Do you buy, sell, trade older sports cards/memorabilia?

So they are artificially trying to inflate their demand by keeping supply low? And in turn causing market values to be completely whack so they can rake in those 5% fees

Also, do they just arbitrarily create new series? Do they have a "print running" or do they just put stock whenever they feel like it?

yup, and im not sure how they play it moving forward.

you cant price out a huge group of people as well as make it nearly impossible to get a pack and then keep everyone happy

if the current trends continue anything under $200 for S1 will be a deal

for example, ISH SMITH was ~$50 yesterday and now its selling at ~$140

So yes blockchain gives it value.

So are these "cards"/highlights/whatever actually using a blockchain?

Or is all the transaction records just tied to the company who makes the digital assets and everyone who invested is fricked if they get hacked/taken down?

Basically is this actually decentralized like Bitcoin where many reputable "digital card" traders help verify who has what assets, or is it all tied to one source who is 100% responsible for defending the transaction records from these digital products?

I see its just an Ethereum token.

That is actually very encouraging. They are building on an established blockchain so there is no issue of trust.

I don't know shite about the NBA so I would lose my shirt but if the NFL pivots into this I will buy in.

Edit: As someone who has a big investment in Ethereum I love seeing this sort of thing built on top of it.

It sounds like UFC is going to be the next sport involved. I hope they get all the kinks worked out with NBA before starting a new venture.
