Five pages and no one mentioned Basic Instinct. This isn't the OT, I guess.

Not sure if it’s been said, but Batman 89 was a dope opening.
Even the credits scene was dope with the elfman score

The opening to Deadpool thru the credits is pretty fantastic.

So quiet in the theater
Everyone in shock to see that scene that showed how bad war really is
I remember a couple of old timer veterans leaving the theater in tears after that movie. It was quite a sight. That opening scene just sets the tone.

I'm sure there will be rationalizations for it, but what y'all think is the opening scene of Saving Private Ryan, ain't the opening scene.
Scream
Fellowship of the Ring
Episode III actually has a pretty cool opening scene too

Head shave was the Introduction, no dialogue. Ermey opening scene is the best ever.

Not the best, but Ghost Ship's was incredible for an otherwise forgettable novie.
This is a good one, outside of the legit contenders. Ridiculous beginning, but super creative.

The Player. An 8 minute, 5 second tracking shot.

Raiders of the Lost Ark is the correct answer
Theres a reason that 40 years later, it is still one of the all-time box office leaders; despite being "a Saturday matinee"
